Like the ***le says. I don't care if it's filled with rats nests or it's a 100 point show stopper! Post 'em up! I'm always looking for ideas!

IMG_4903 (1).JPG An older shot of mine with the hood off. Some "different approaches" that may have gone unnoticed:
The battery tray was custom made and sunk into the inner fender about 3 1/2-4" to make room for the big heads/valve covers. It was originally on p***enger side where my air filter had to be.
The windshield washer reservoir/pump is a nice little neat unit off a 2000ish Mustang, and yes, the washer ****on on the multi-function steering column switch is operational. Washer nozzles are Camero (?) headlight units.
The Jetta power distribution box is mounted on the inner fender just behind the battery. Special clamps have to be made to mount it. I cut up a household door hinge that was the right size to fab the clamps. I also have one that can't be seen in this pic that is also on the inner fender, but below the outer fender in back. The Optima 4 post helps keep the multi-connections neat.
The noisy hood hinge springs were replaced with hydraulic units with the added advantage of having more room to run the A/C condenser lines.
Firewall had 26 cavaties/holes filled...no wiper motor on firewall, it was moved to inside the cowl. No hood latch.......forward opening hood made it safe/feasible to just use hood pins.
Engine originally had coil packs and spark plug wires. I changed it to a simulated coil on plug (COP) that was factory standard in '97. Really cleaned up the engine compartment with that stuff gone. "Simulated" meaning it isn't a true COP. The computer in the COP engined cars sends out 8 signals. On the original setup, my computer sent out 4 signals, and the original coil packs (4 total coils)sent out the signal to 2 cylinders simultaneously. I just changed the wiring so the wiring splits up each of the 4 signals to 2 each for the 8 signal total. Valve covers off a '97 4.6 dohc were used for the conversion.
Mustang Cobra (2002) hydroboost unit for the brakes........no room for a va***n booster, and an electric unit was out of my budget. Absolutely wonderful braking system. The s.s. power steering reservoir was custom made for my application with 2 return lines and a bottom fittting with barbs so I could use the stock Lincoln rubber supply hose.
    Probably other stuff I'm forgetting.

This is what mine did look like right up until I decided to quit fighting with Holley 94’s and put a 57 intake and Edelbrock four barrel on it. It actually doesn’t run as good as it did with the 3x2, but is WAY more dependable. Sitting at 98,000 miles now, I am thinking a rebuild may be in my near future.

Very nice......what is it? The hood latch setup and forward opening hood looks T-bird, if that is what it is, must have some extensive body mods.

Hey Texas - tell me about the hi-low horns you are running up front on yours.

Just swap meet items, and they are not loud enough. One of my future projects is to replace them with the horns I kept off a Mark viii donor car.
Since there was some interest, I added a bunch of notes to my posted pic above.

Yes, car is '55 Thunderbird. Owned by Wayne Zablosky and built by David Guymon about twenty five years ago. I redid the engine compartment a little while back.

    The car...

I had thought about the unique hood latch setup for my car, that's why I recognized it. Yes, very skillful design and execution on the mods. I like it alot. Not too often you can modify a cl***ic like the T-Bird and come away with a winner.
    Dominick, what part of Texas?

Its a Spectre...filter is just paper - but they sell singe, dual inlets and all piping and elbows...just need to weld or clamo them up. Ebay guy was selling scratched ones - I sanded & painted it anyway, so got it on the cheap.
