Curious if anyone on here has had any experience or knows someone that has had experience with Moal torsion bar 32 chassis. They're a bit pricey but I wonder if they work?

I emailed Wayne Carini awhile back about that as one of his Moal built sports rods was based on that chassis and he said they were great. As seen on TV, and all that.

Gary - I know of a couple people with Moal torsion chassis, and they love them.

I worked for the guy that bought Steve's blue 32 torsion bar car. We drove it back from the Grand National Roadster show. Very nice driver. Nice ride and handled very well. Much more comfortable than buggy spring car.
I also drove around El Paso ( Worst roads in the southwest.) It handled all the roads could throw at it . Ron

Gary, I built a couple 34's with torsion bars years ago. Both worked great.

Jo Kerr built one for me, and it's great. He's a great guy and know's what he's doing. Check out his web page, twitter.
Here's a picture of my chassis when he was building it IMG_20161001_115357276.jpg

I used Morris Minor bars on a T-Tub 42 years ago, used Schroeder Bars and splined blanks, for the arms and stops, On Pat Ganahl's, Spalding Copy. It's always a fun challenge to try something new. img20161231_15371815.jpg IMG_7829.JPG

July 1953 Honk magazine had an article on building torsion bar suspension. The article was based on a T roadster pickup that raced against sportscars and credited the torsion bar setup with it being able to handle so well.

Did some research and Moal is still offering the T bar 32 chassis on a custom built basis. They do offer their front and rear torsion assemblies as kits. It's more expensive than it shows on their site but I don't think I want to tackle doing it myself?

For what it's worth, when I was racing most sprint cars were 4 bars. I went from a parallel torsion rear, spring front to a car with front and rear parallel torsion bars. The nice part was the ability to adjust all 4 corners. The worst part was the ability to adjust all 4 corners.

gnichols: Great looking frame I like the parallel torsion bars but since I am running horns I need cross torsion bars. Looks much like a chassis years ago that was under a 29 Ford 2 door phaeton.

^ you can get the Moal stuff to do it yourself, but it is kinda pricy IMHO. If you are good at fabrication and know some sprint car guys they can help a lot with parts, bar rates, etc.. It might also help to research some Kurtis sports rods chassis.

I checked out your other thread on the t-bar frame and I couldn't find any info on Steve's Auto Fab. Can you show us some more detailed photos. Anything else you can share with us.

There is one post there on the 2nd page with Steve's contact data. Just call him, he doesn't have a web site as far as I know.
