Hot Rods Potvin 3/8 or 400jr

I know it’s been asked a million times, but it all comes down to the specific application right? So here is my engine:
286” 8BA 3-5/16 x 4-1/8
1.6” intake and exhaust valves
Offenhauser .400 heads
Offenhauser std dual
New Big 97s (250cfm ea)
Mallory Unilite and MSD coil.
Currently has a 1007B that was degreed in.
Lots of material removed from the valve bowls and tops of lifters. Ports blended and cleaned up

I’ve run 8000 miles on this engine in a full fendered AV8. It pulls hard from idle until 3500 and then gets lazy. I have a Potvin 3/8 cam and have been told a 400jr would be the best choice. I want more mid range and top end, which do you think would be better?
