I cleaned this up, This is the Hamb, so that means no large diameter billet wheels period. Also big trucks like firetrucks and dump trucks are off topic
Here's a friend's '48 F-1 in tow of his race car. We call him "Uncle Bob". I like it when they're put to work.
As I was saying earlier, the trucks from IHC, in the 40's and 50's were really well built, and very underappreciated!
This is obviously regarding one of the pics I put up in post#15. I agree totally, and have completely deleted the offending file. Wheel choice could have been better considered. You gotta admit though, it sure was a cool truck.
I love the willys trucks 40-41. I have one but not exactly on topic here. Also the studebaker coupe express are neat. But you can’t beat the advance design for space. This is my daily Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.

I like all old trucks. Partial to '38-'39 Fords because I've had my '38 since 1966 when I was 14 years old. Henrietta is lettered as a shop truck for Drake Motor Co., the Ford dealer in Rockmart GA from 1928-1956. Phone 13, actual phone number back in the day. I thought for years that '38 Ford was the first truck with a front-opening hood (as opposed to the butterfly hood), but I learned that honor goes to the '37 Studebaker pickup.

Truthfully as far as Hamb friendly trucks go I like most of the trucks from 65 on back. I wanted a 56 Chevy Big window when I found my 48 and would still like to have one but they are way out of my price range now. I tried for years to wangle a late 30's Studebaker Express out of a guy who had it out in his wrecking yard a few miles from me but he wasn't interested in selling it then. Never did hear what happened to it when the yard closed. The 48 will probably never leave my family as my daughter will take it over some day. Hopefully I have it all finished by then. It actually grew on me over the years like a mongrel dog that shows up on your back porch and wangles it's self into becoming a part of the family. I'm going to have to says "best" is the one you have that fits your needs and desires.
A neighbor has a '56 Chevy Apache pickup, (stepside) and was telling me how 'superior' it is to my '55 F100. I think the F100s are way better looking than the square Chevies...but I'm old, and know what's good. I reminded him about the doors...If they aren't falling loose of the hinges, the opening & closing is like a Vaudeville act. "Lift, then open...DON'T LET GO... Now get in, lift and close. NO, LIFT first!"
Please don't make me choose. I love all things "truck". The really soft spots... AD Chevys, 60-66 Chevys, 40 Fords, Unibody Fords. I would drive almost anything shown on the last three pages though. Just bring me more trucks! I know it's off topic, but I just bought a 77 F100 Short Fleet that is in factory tan paint with the factory double pinstripe panel treatment, still has the OG paperwork in the glove from when the new purchase was made on it. Runs like a sewing machine. Will be my fifth 73-79 Ford, so I guess I love them too. Trucks!
I’m kind of partial to mid36-38 Chevy trucks, I’m sure it’s because I’ve had mine for 41 years. It’s sort of like a wart, hard to get rid of. Mitch
