Just picked up a pair of stainless steel roadster headers that have a "yellowish gold" cast ( and a little blueing ) to them. They're not new, have been run for a couple of years, and were hanging in a garage for the last few months. Any ideas on a product or procedure to restore the finish on these? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

"Blue Away" sold at motorcycle shops does an OK job. Careful though as it's mildly abrasive, and if your headers are polished, they may scratch.

    Hot environment chrome polish.
It is used on dragsters, bikes, etc. specifically to remove blue and gold oxides from chrome and stainless exhausts with out harming them.

Built my headers out of stainless, polished them till they looked like chrome. 10 minutes run time and they were gold tinted. polished again same thing, run them as is from now on.
