@drdave Love the "picture". Didn't notice at first glance, but looks like Sam B showed up after you got "parked"?

Edit You beat me to the send button. You answered my Sam question above a moment before I even asked it. That's how good you are!!

I have that in black and white. I got a set of 5 that came with my Classic gauges when building the Hudson. That set included the well known San Diego roadster(featured recently here on the HAMB or maybe it was on Pat Ganahl's site) and the Pearson Bros coupe.

This curious kustom nerd is wondering if there has been any narrowing done? Looking forward to listening and learning. I'm shy and don't talk a lot:D

Highly recommend Lead Ain't Dead. It could get expensive - I came home and immediately started to build a mild custom. The expensive part came when I realized that I was 75 years old and did not have enough time left to develop the body modification and painting skills. Had to send out the fabrication and paint - included forming replacement front (under the grill) and rear (under the trunk) pans.

    2020 05 02 Night shot.jpg
Built on a "Bondo budget". Picture taken during reassembly. The mechanical, air conditioning and electrical work is mine. I delivered the car stripped down and ready for body work. Ed Smoot did the work - several of the details came from his suggestions. Ed wanted to lead this project, but, my pockets were not that deep...

This car is ready for the 2,200 mile round trip to Dewey (real customs get driven). Me, not-so-much, I flunked the "How-susceptable-to-COVID-19" test.

If you see a "SILVER ALERT - 75 YEAR OLD MALE IN AN WHITE VOLVO - LAST SEEN LOOKING FOR A REST ROOM" on the overhead sign, I said screw-it and am on the way to Dewey

  6. Car looks great @TrailerTrashToo! Hopefully I will get to see it next time....unless you take off running and we see you next week! ;)

I've been wanting to do this the first show but now is time to discuss "What is a Kustom?" Also going to discuss Gary Howard (king of subtle) Kustom treatments from his expert kustom eye. What vehicle is the most Inspiring Kustom of the day, this will be a good one. I'm saving my input for the LAD......

Lol! Very kool, looking forward to seeing you and the ride. I like to see kustoms built out of the norm. Stretches our imagination. Enjoy the trip....... Just got back from Rock & Rumble in Colorado and they had record numbers. I have guys coming from the show from both left and right coast. Going to be a fun weekend celebrating kustom cars.

Just got off the phone from a kustom car enthusiasts from Philadelphia, PA. He just finalized his plans to drive the eighteen hour drive to attend the Lead Ain't Dead. Kinda crazy how far guys are driving to attend the event. So far we have guys from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, South Carolina & Texas. If you have any questions just let me know..

That's a heavy hitter right there. Always liked that car. Dreamed of hitting the lottery when it was for sale.

Yadada yadada yada dadah Sha-boom Sha-boom..... Lol!! What a great song.... The car was cheap enough that I was thinking about selling stuff but couldn't let anything go.... At least now, Mark might take me for a ride.

Hey Mick. I just did a quick measurement and as long as we stay skinny we can social distance in Seaburst. I'll even let you drive. Can't wait for Lead Ain't Dead. See you Thursday or Friday!

I wish I could go. Is it the same time every year? may be something I can try and get to next summer.

Sounds good, I think I may try and get my week of vacation that week. Be a good reason to drive to Oklahoma. Also maybe some motivation to get my Plymouth on the road. Be one hell of a road trip.

Thanks for the kind words but CCR is the Rodder’s Journal of kustom shows. We are hoping to be able to generate interest with our kustom hobby. Got to do what we can to keep it going...
