Technical Chevy 235 to ‘52 Buick standard transmission

some good information on this post. can i add my question?

i have a 1941 buick special. the motor appears hopeless. what are my options for adding a more modern engine such as a v8 or something similar? is there anything that is fairly common or a direct fit? im on a very tight budget and just want to get the old beast on the road.
