I converted my 40' coupe to power discs and have a question about the vacuum line.

The engine is a 283 with an early Edlebrock manifold. There is one vacuum port in the manifold that runs down to trans (turbo 350) and one in the base of the carb to the PCV valve.

I am ***uming that I have to drill and tap the manifold for the booster vacuum. If so, is there a particular spot where this should be done?

    Thanks!

you could do that, but it might be easier to just get a fitting to go in the intake and run the trans and power brakes from it, this was used by Chevy on some engines.

I would not put the brake vacuum source on the PCV line.

So ***uming things are working correctly, there would be enough va***m at that one port for the booster and the trans?

    That certainly would simplify things

The ****** does not actually "use" vacuum, unlike the brakes and PCV.

Chevy did put the power brake booster and ****** on the one manifold vacuum port on engines in the mid-late 60s. Later they put a dedicated vacuum port on the back of the carb for the power brakes, and the PCV vacuum was connected at the front of the carb.

    Either way should work fine.

No. There are only 2 ports on the carb. One for the PCV and the small one for vacuum advance. It is an early Holley dual float.
