helping @BP32 putting his 32 pickup together and I am not sure what this bracket is. is this the way the 4 cylinder motor is mounted? what is the little bracket for on the side? how should this motor be mounted if this is not the mount? the front cross member is not riveted in. is it the right one?
Not sure what the bracket your hand is on in 2nd picture, but the two "legs" sit on the biscuits that go on the holes in the crossmember. Paul in CT
Never seen a front mount like that. All mounts I seen bolt to the bottom of the front cover like on an A. There are different lengths and styles depending on year. This is a 32 mount used on an A. Hard to see in photo but it goes from one side to the other over the crank but bolts to the front cover.
Some hokey ass member mount. Looks like the vibration damper that mounts to the firewall and then to the back of the motor with some Yankee jury rigging added. Will text a pic later today Ted from the 32 woodie of front and back mounts. I think I have an extra set of each.
Model A motors were used in all kinds of machinery equipment. Not all were mounted as in a Car/Truck. That even though it may bolt on the Motor is Not for a Car or Truck frame. Whatever you have in your Left hand needs to be set aside into the Whatzit box. Henry didn't slot mount holes till the 60's.
the upper two bolts of the bracket line up with the 32 water pump blots. they would not sign up with an A head. truck is a basket case with almost no two parts bolted together. maybe they sourced the motor from a piece of equipment? compressor/ stationary, etc and this was the bracket that held it on?
This is what a 32 B4 engine mount looks like on our fairly original (apart fro alternator which is gone now) Early year production pickup.
