The directions are all based on the gate the cars come in, not the main spectator gate.
If you like burnouts don't worry.
If they shut em down one place they'll find another.

Its not even worth wasting the water....hell, most of them couldnt get there tires to spin (and i have it all on footage..) and the others were afraid to get there cars wet.....It was all Ronnie Rebels fault!

O-yeah, please explain to me why everybody 'breaks the hell out' like there was a shooting when it starts to rain???...Is it because they dont like getting there cars wet but arent they making even a bigger mess???....
Either way its 'entertaining' to watch....

Moondisc- No reason to gaurd your 'hine end'....wait, i take that back you never know...But yeah, i stumbled across some finally...But then sold them to a buddy so he could use them in his since his was further along-so if you see a bitching lil coupe amongst the boys,,,go check it out!

  7. Maybe you're thinking of the March show, I forget if thats an ISCA show or whos it is. They didn't have a big show until they got the Street Rod Nationals NSRA show in '95, then a couple years later some local guys started this. It's amusing how many copycats there have been, now there's a "Hot August Nat's" in Rome and I saw someone else's "whatever Nationals" show flyers somewhere too.

Thought about setting up over there, but $50 gets you a phone-booth sized spot and I'd have no help all weekend, so I said to heck with it. I found something else to do on Friday night anyways -

Perhaps I'll see you then in the host hotel parking lot mid-afternoon. One of my posse that is traveling with us has a white and maroon '39 Chevy so that should catch your attention. I'll be in a purple '47 Olds convert and my folks will be in their black and silver '56 Olds.

    What color is your Chevy??

  11. It was in September back then.
I'm thinking it was the Hot Rod Street Machine Nationals.
I hope you guys have a good time.
I really like walking around looking at those cool old buildings.
There are a couple of really great phot op locations with pillars and arches and.....
    well, have a great time.
    Maybe next year.

Bad storm went through about 9:30, heard a loud thump when it stopped raining found a large tree limp on the roof now I have to get my sorry old ass out of bed early to cut it up and meet the gang by 10:00 to leave. Bringing 7 cars from the O.T.H.G.PA. from the Allentown area.

Well i'll be leaving here in a little while..hopefully i won't drive over the crank of my little 235 heading out the thru-way. 60mph is about topped out with it so it should be a nice "sunday" drive with all the CrAzY bastards doing 85..
    see you guy's there.
If you see a copper colored chopped 53 chevy that's me......stop and say hi..

We arrived here and are having a ball! As soon as we pulled into the hotel THECHICK came right up and introduced herself, What a GREAT welcoming! Chatted for a bit, checked in, then started cleaning the bugs off and man were there alot of them. Some even had "Columbus" tattooed on their squished butts.:D

Chatted with THECHICK somemore then we gathered up the rest of our posse and headed over to Dinosaurs BBQ. Man o man is that place as AWESOME as I remember it. Cruzed around a bit and now we're back at the hotel and I just had to take a peak at the HAMB before calling it a nite.

See all you guys at the fairgrounds in the morning.

We had a great time all day Friday, although it was VERY hot & humid. We did get say "Hello" to HRLC one more time, which is always a TREAT !!

Saturday morning saw a good size rain storm moving in and when we went to start the cars to go back to the fairgrounds, my buddy's car (not a HAMBer) wouldn't start. We screwed around with it, getting pretty soaked along the way, but finally got it running on MOST of the cylinders. He was worried about having additional problems at the fairgrounds and decided to get it back home and fix it properly (how do you say - "chicken shit" !!), so we left, never making it back to the Nats.

We also returned home with six dozen world class chocolate chip cookies, baked fresh by the Missus, just before we left. The cookies were meant for the HAMBers that showed up, but as stated above, we never made it back. On the bright side, I now have 6-dozen cookies to eat !! Sorry we missed the "Meet & Greet" - maybe next year.

I don't have the exact number but the estimate is now at 40 million above insurance coverage, and maybe climbing. Even thought I slept through a lot of it Syracuse was a good time. I was glad to get a day or so off. Sorry I didn't get to see you but i made a short appearance at the meet and greet between naps.
