Technical 62 T-bird steering column help pls!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alteredpilot, Sep 24, 2020.

  1. I'm trying to get the chrome bezel behind the steering wheel off but it seems stuck.
took the steering wheel off, took off the turn signal switch stalk, TS switch, the horn contact, the shift indicator and light, removed the nuts for those pesky square head bolt and the snap ring that secures it. That bezel should just slide right off right? come on T-Bird guys. help me out here.

I tackled this same problem a couple of weeks ago. The bearing on my '61 was stuck so I ended up making a small puller, similar to the steering wheel puller, and used the shift indicator screw holes to pull the chrome bezel out.
