Literally haven’t done anything to the truck for weeks, school is back in and I’m doing “virtual” teaching. Ugh Anyway, I remembered in a house I lived in for a year there was an old heater in the attic, the house belongs to a church I worked at so I stopped by today and asked if I could see if it was still in the attic, they let me go check and I grabbed this cool little nugget.
I found a pretty good website for history of these heaters, mine is a Harrison Model H 45 which should be 1936 to 1937. https://sites.google.com/site/vintageharrisonheaters/home/pre-war-heaters-1935-1941
Finally found a front lower shock mount plate, now I don’t have to worry about the front end coming loose while rolling it in the driveway. Still need a couple u-bolts. Anyway, while nightly looking at parts on eBay I see a lot of old vehicle accessories and I was surprised when I saw these Smokey the Bear cigarette snuffers/magnetic note holders for your desk or dashboard auctioning at high prices. I was surprised because I have a baker’s dozen of them in my garage. The bottom has instructions on how to properly put your cigarette out and then later break the snuffed end off and smoking it again.
Well, a year and a half later, here I am. You know how life gets, the truck is still in my driveway, I neglected to work on it because I still hadn’t gotten a title, but as of last week, I have a clean and clear title. This makes me want to put some actual time into the truck. I’m a school teacher and have just a few days left before summer break and I can get some work done. My dad was cleaning out his shop and found an old NOS glass bowl Holley carburetor that I’m hoping I can use on the 235 in my truck.
