Reversed '30 with a '46-'47 truck's hoodside script... radiator support brackets moved to the now outside... .
Everything! I can hardly see my firewall! Between the motor, the brake booster and master cylinder, the wiring, the heater hose connection and the AC connection, there is only about 6" of the top part of the firewall visable. Can't post pictures right now. Not much to see anyway. Gene
Distributor recess made from a Freightliner radiator tank. The distributor actually cleared without it but now I have more room.
As little as I can. I like to hide stuff and keep it clean. I did cave on my 49 Buick and go with power brake booster and MC on the firewall. In hid the wiper system and the ignition box in the kick panel.
First part of hot rod I build in the late 1950's. I just had stock firewall ,in 1960 I got a sheet of alum and made a firewall cover that I polished, seemed pretty cool n shiny ,but needed a lot of upkeep. Some years later my buddy Rush was working a backhoe ,at Miami Intern. Airport. They were tearing down one of the older buildings. The design on the inside was artdeco an a wall had polished stainless steel pannels with embosed rivit looking design. My buddy calls me ,said "I know you love shiny stuff, there is a few SS panels on the trash pile not bent up too bad,I'll bring them home if you want 2 ?. Yup,I replaced that alum with polished stainless steel Artdeco for fire wall. Up side is,only have to wipe it off.
Nothing on mine but heater hoses. There's a mirrored stainless panel in the center-paroled prison mirror.
It would be hard to get much "busier" than this firewall, 1953 Studes look far better with the hood down
