Well, it has a few miles today and after a couple of adjustments, we are pleased. Goes straight down the road, sounds awesome and rides well. So this week we'll finish the door interior, install carpet and sand the basecoat to taste. Hopefully weather will cooperate and it'll get some shakedown miles in the next couple of weeks so the owner can come fetch it back to Colorado

It's sanded, test driven, tuned and a bolt check done. Now we wait. Thanks to all for the kind comments and look for a build thread on the '56 F100.
Yes. He wanted it natural color. It's not 50 year wood but these trucks are usually garaged and pampered as far as hauling. Randy is milling a fuel opening ring today.
My other Ford truck is a nice rust free '52, with '50 front clip. Keeping the 4 semi-elliptic springs, dropping front axle 2", reversing eyes front & rear, Bronco 3.54 rear. I just like 'em raked. This " '51" of yours sure makes me lean toward Ford power...Just love those roller types, 303 cams... Beautiful work, all the way through. Admired your mentioning on your own truck the use of the clutch cable. My son and I retro-fitted a B303 roller 302 into his '65 Mustang, w/5 speed. We used the later clutch cable also. Tight fit below that upper cowl!
Using the pedals and stock cable setup makes perfect sense as it allows you to adjust where the pedals mount on the firewall. I did the roller 302/B303 cam on mine and it has a fairly lumpy idle with still being drivable. I could have used an E303 with a stick truck though.
...I'd have to scuff up the drivers door inside just a bit...lol...I love so called patina, fake or otherwise,...they all have character....nice job guys, you gonna raise it up a bit yet? ...Id just raise the rear a bit.
Lol. We're waiting for the front springs to settle. Usually settles an inch or two after a few miles. The rear is where it's gotta stay. No blocks to remove... They killed the roads with salt yesterday so we need some rain before we can pile some miles on.
Looking Great nice Work!! The paint looks like it fits to me. My Son says I should do the shine paint. Of course it changes the whole Idea between the two . And more folding personality. Who wants chocolate or Vanilla?
