Are we talking about the mig welder they have? If so, I have one. Not my first choice, but it works well on sheet metal and 3/16" plate, anything heavier and I crank up the Lincoln 225 and go to work. I got mine at a heck of a deal, free.

Don't do it unless it's free. Spend a little more and get better quality. I used one for a couple years and it was really hard to get parts for. Welded pretty ****ty too. I got a Miller and guess what- I was a good welder with a bad machine.

I've had a Clarke for years and no problems, easy to get new tips. I've built 2 cars with a Clarke plus a lot of other projects . Now maybe if you were going to use it in a shop every day you might want spend twice as much for a bigger name brand but I think the're fine. Actually I think the're made in England.

I have one. It's fine for light work like sheet metal, small brackets, and such. Mine has been very reliable for the 1.5 years I've used it.

I used a miller the other day and I impressed myself with how nice my welds looked with very little effort.

I wish I had spent another $300 and gotten a better machine. I'll get another one pretty soon and just keep the clarke in the corner for back up.
