It's comin up Sept 29-Oct 1 @ Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, Tx. Still 2 months away....just wanderin.
The "Day of the Drags" that Dirty2 mentioned is sponsored by The Kontinentals out of Austin. Check their website for more details, or stay tuned in here and there will be more mention of it as the date draws closer. Hotrob
Looks like the "Day of the Drags" might be the following weekend... http://www.kontinentals.com/drags06/
Hunnert Car Pileup is on the 14th...... I have to go to Mecca for my annual jalopification. No GG for me, I'll probably spend less on gas than I would for entry anyway.
No kidding. I know it costs a heap to put on a gig like that, but it has gotten pretty cost-prohibitive for me. (I'm not putting down GG... just saying the fun per dollar ratio isn't there for me when I have some big bills to pay this year.)
That means I make small bucks for sure then. Man Goodguys is killing me. Gonna be the same weekend as Hunnert Pile up. Decisions, decisions. I know it will be alot cooler in Illinois though
AMEN! I have decided to boycot all the big shows for a while. 60 bucks or better to set in a parking lot is a little tough on my wallet.
No Goodguys for me...29th is my birthday and Reverend Horton heat will be playing here in Austin. See ya at the drags!
Im savin my bucks for the Drags & the PileUp! ..................... Lets have a BBQ/cookout somewhere Instead of GG!!!...........................
I should be there Thurs.-Sun. We will be set up in the parking lot in a mini motorhome. Come by in the evening and say hello. I sure would like to go to the drags also.
I'm there of course. Who here knows about the restaurant "Babes?" It's like 10 minutes from the show and has THE BEST food anywhere. Home style fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, biscuits etc. that comes family style. Meaning in HUGE piles on plates in the middle of the table. It's like $8 each for all you can eat. You will leave miserably full. It's like an old barn inside with tons of old signs and goofy new joke ones. And it's BYOB! Maybe we could get a HAMB dinner together! Great food, great atmosphere, great price!
Never heard of it, I'll have to ask Thunderrocket, he lives in throwing distance of the track. Heaping bowles of home cooked food are a good thing.
I thought about draggin the travel trailer out there but don't have a generator for A/C. I'll be there Saturday and maybe Sunday.
