No work on the car here lately..(because of a back injury) but I did manage to finish redoing the bicycle I picked up at the last swap meet.

Finished up the trans tunnel today

I think it turned out pretty well. I still have a couple of small patches to make.

laid out all my cuts for the chop.

    finished bracing the rear window

Now the fun really begins. Started by cutting out the rear window.

Then I cut out the B-pillar

I set the top back on to get a look at it.

I’ll start working on the front post alignment this weekend.

Got a little more work done on the chop. Front post are tacked in place. Rear window is set were I think I want it. And I started working on the B-pillar and door post. Used some tape to get a better idea of the profile. More to come.

More progress on the chop. Passenger side B-pillar, A-pillar and door window frame are almost finished, and back window corner installed.
Luckily I have a whole extra donor roof...I cut a section out of its B-pillar to make the curve on the bottom flow better. I will do the same with the top corner of the door frame.

Jeez, you're making me feel bad! You've done floors and most of a chop in the time it has taken me to do the passenger side floor in my '51. Of course you know how to weld, that helps a lot, lol. I've got it figured out finally but damn, I'm slow!

Hey Kage, I just visited a junkyard near Blaine in Granger County, TN last week looking for GM parts from the '40s and '50s. not much left. A few mid '50s Buicks, but a lot of Fords from '49-'56 and some mopars of the same era along with quite a few desirable cars from the '60s and early 70s.

thanks...this is my 1st time wheeling out a large panel. It still needs some work. But it’s getting close

    thanks for the kind words.

what is the name or address of the yard? I would like to check it out.

I'll have to get back to you on that, we just drive up there. They say they're open Monday thru Saturday. They're located near Blaine, TN. Sonny Reeser used to own it, but he passed away, now his brother Gary runs the place. He's very reasonable on parts prices, perhaps the family made their money on the cars back when they were newer, I believe its Reeser Auto Parts, Just ask the locals in the wide spot in the road known as Blaine. There is a used car lot in town that has some antiquated vehicles and I believe are affiliated with the yard, they can direct you if you have come that far.

I pushed the car out side...took a couple of pics and then turned it around so I can work on the drivers side.

Not much progress as of late. Currently making templates of the passenger side window opening so I can make sure the drivers side matches perfectly.

Took a break from working on the chop to work on the drivers fender. Also working on grafting the 52-54 fender flares onto my fender

Well...I'm finally back to work on my 51.
since I last posted I have finished welding on the fender flares and frenched the head lights. 20200409_185618.jpg

the new headlight rings were to think and gave the car a bug eyed look so I cut about an Inch out of them

I've also been building my own bead roller with a 36" throat depth. the body is made from 1/4" plate, the stand is made from 1/8" stainless
It isn't complete yet. I still have to machine the shaft guides and order the spur gears. And finish weld the stand and add some adjustable foot pegs.
