Shipping a car from Cali to the UK? How much?

    Anyone know about this? Any good numbers or websites I could check out? Good resources? I am contemplating moving to Leeds but can't leave the hot rod behind, now can I? Thanks y'all...

    I can't help you with your question, but I thought you just posted something about her moving over here???

    Shoot me a PM about finishing my chest when you get a chance. Even if you aren't moving to England, I'm moving to Texas, and should probably get this thing finished up while we're still living in the same state.

    the shipping isnt that expensive.. say £800 as a rough guess.
    When we import cars we have to pay import duty (variable but lets say 10% of the cost of the vehicle and shipping) and then pay VAT (sales tax at 17.5%) on that. I am wondering if this wouldn't apply to you as its a temporary import ? You need to check that out with HMCE http://www.hmce.gov.uk

    How long are you planning on staying ? Im guessing you may need to register the car here, PM me for a bit more info on that.

    I've used Kingstown Shipping http://www.kingstown-shipping.co.uk/ from this end, but its probably easier for you to use a US Company.
