Which tranny?

Hey all,

This should 'rouse some conversation. I'm currently putting together my first hot rod... I've got a '56 292 y-block and access to:

-standard transmission

-3 speed overdrive

or

-'39 w/ bellhousing adaptor, torque tube and banjo

Which of the three would YOU use?

 

the 3 speed OD's are fun to drive.

Overdrive ... many reasons

 

what kind of car? I was gonna use a 3 speed OD in my coupe but the car is so low that the solonoid stuck out too far on the drivers side so I had no leg room. ****s I was dyin to use it too!

 

Wow... overdrive across the board. Actually, that kind of surprises me...

'29 Model A.... probably roadster...

i would go with the 39 ******

 

and later on build an halibrand out of the banjo...

 

Overdrive vote. I got one out of a 51 ford coupe

 

Atta girl! It's hard to beat the "look" of a nice roadster.

 

Alright, gots a vote for the '39 and another for OD.

Lindross: I've got sort of a neat idea for a roadster... now all I have to do is find a body. I've got a '29 cowl... it's a start, anyway. Haha!

 

underdrive...I like being different like everybody else

 

a vote for the toploader-torque tube and banjo. That's what I'm doing on my AV8. Plan on a quickchange in the future-as soon as I win the lottery!!
