I’m building my 55 Chevy in a (mostly) traditional late 50’s to early 60’s hotrod style. I don’t see many 55-57 Chevys built in this style. Most go for later 60’s g***er or later pro street look. Looking for mostly pre modern wheel/tire combos, before Cragers and American Racing style wheels.
The 55 in Sometimes they come back nails this style. The American Graffiti 55 is more g***er than I am going for, but still pretty much in the same style.
Anyone have cars or pics of cars in this style?

    Leaning toward this style wheel.
Bonus points for photos of cars with this wheel. [emoji6]
Not sure what size or tire to go with yet, other than 15” wheel.

I know it is a custom and not a hot rod, but here is my 55 with 15x6 (3" bs) chrome wheels with 6.70-15 tires

Don’t know if I would call it a hot rod, but it was sure fun for this teenager back in the ‘70’s.

Here's a couple of my buddies' cars. Steel wheels or poverty caps on either at any time. Can't show mine, wheels are too new. IMG_20200605_143212_01.jpg 580168000.jpg

Nosed and decked, vertical side trim removed, '56 Buick tail lenses, whitewalls, Olds or Dodge flippers, '57Corvette grille, wagon rear bumper, V8, stick shift, duals. Lots of them looked like this in the late fifties. They also weren't afraid of swapping in Nailheads, Rockets, and Caddies. Have fun with it!

Not early 60's or pro street, kind of in between.
My second car in high school had black wheels and little w/w's when I bought it about 1970.
Immediately put Cragars on it and did this to it because it was the thing to do then, might be more traditional without the 68/ up era "grump lump".
I actually get a little nostalgic when looking at the photo of it with the black wheels.

My pal Greg Porter put together this slick '55 last year. I really dig it.

Did exactly as traffic61 did for a while. Then a buddy was selling off a set of vette rims that he had on his 69 chevelle and so I tried them. Holy **** I liked that look.

Look's just like Mark's when he slaps the caps on. I like it.

Here's my 56...the wheels are too new for the look you're after, but the rest of the car has that yesteryear look. IMG_0006.jpeg

This '56 belongs to someone on the HAMB, I forget who but I really love it, it's really simple but I think that's what makes it perfect. Really makes me want to paint my car all one color red.

My '57 was some high school kid's hotrod back in the day, still has his parking p*** stuck in the rear window. The old gross paint is older than I am, but I doubt anyone (even a broke HS kid) would have driven it like this. Everything else is period stuff.

Here's a handful of other pics I have saved from wherever. A lot of what I have is more custom than hotrod but there's a few that apply. The first one was my dad's '57 210 hardtop that he sold recently.

Hoepfullt @alfin32 will add pics of his '55 sedan to this thread.
It's perfectly understated; stock color, stock exterior, stock interior, dark gray magnesium mags.:cool::cool:
