Toploader trans...what is it????

    Got this trans along with some other stuff this weekend. The input shaft is in a seperate can with the bearings but there should be enough here in these pics for someone to ID it. This thing weighs a TON...if there is someone local that wants it I am sure we can make a deal...

    is that maybe a new process 435? sure looks like it.

    It is definitely an NP435. I have one in my Willys flatfender sandwiched between a 5.0 and a 4 to 1 geared Dana 300 tcase. It has a super low 6.78 to 1 first gear. Those are extremely popular for swaps with the offroad crowd due to its low first gear. Very stout. Joe
