I need to add a dust collection system to my shop for the occasional woodworking projects. Will a SkatBlast vacuum do the job, or do I need special equipment? Thx!

My pal has a stove hood fan over his woodwork area and seems to work well vented outdoors. We are both the cheap and easy type.

My son bought a tool to separate the dust out of his sandblaster. Its called a Dust Deputy and he says it works very well for him.

I have a modified 5 gallon bucket between my cabinet and a small shop vac. Works great!

I also recommend the Dust Deputy. I bought the deluxe version with the buckets and everything to put it work quickly. It works great! https://www.oneida-air.com/dust-deputy
Before the Dust Deputy, I had a modified a 5 gal bucket between the blast cabinet and the shop vac.

I recall a HAMB’r making one with a 5 gallon bucket, some PVC pipe. As I recall he filled it about 1/2 way with water Pipe from the Blaster went into the water, exhaust from the bucket was above the water. The water stopped the dust. Drained as needed

Another + for the Dust Deputy. It'll keep fines like sanding dust from clogging your filter in your shop vac, it pretty much catches everything before it gets to the vacuum.

I have a Skat Blast cabinet connected to Dust Deputy, the exhaust from the D.D. Goes into a plastic five gallon bucket filled a third with water, the exhaust from the bucket is clean, no dust whatsoever. I did not want to penetrate an outside wall for exhaust.
