Customs Images of tri-five Ford's...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 1stGrumpy, Oct 30, 2020.

  1. Personally, I find that the tri-five Ford can be just as eye pleasing as the more popular tri-five Chevy. To me, they both can be turned into a very nice looking mild custom with little cash investment. Popular back in the day, the Ford now seems to be mostly overlooked. So, what do you think? Have you got a favorite Ford that speaks to you? Got a picture or two? Let's see them...
I started this thread so I guess that I should start with mine and a few others that I like...

I don't know why these aren't done more often. I've seen some out there and they are reasonably priced, comparatively speaking. I Know that they aren't a Tri-Five Chevy, but they have good bones. Buy Now before the prices go Up!

Chevrolet wasn’t supposed to either. The 57 should never have been made. The 58 was to be the 57 but there was a problem with metal or testing... There is research on this....

This Chevrolet guy has ALWAYS had a thing for the 55-56 Ford Crown Victoria's, and the 57 Ford Sedans, and I've never had one, none of them. In high school (66-69), one of my classmates always had a 55-56 Crown Vic, and the first thing he'd do with each car, was to sling an I-beam axle under the front end, and drop in an FE motor with a 4 speed transmission. Then he'd sell the car, find another one, and do it again. Every time he'd do that to a Crown Vic, it would just make me sick! One of the nicest cars Ford ever produced, and he'd "butcher" them (sorry, JMO). He finally got into the early 60's, full sized Ford convertibles as a senior, and Crown Vic's survival rates went way up. That ^^^red 57 Ford posted by partssaloon^^^, is more effective than Viagra! "Honey, why do you always have to bring that car to bed with you?" And there you go.

I think he has two. Personally, it was a 55 Ford that first lit my hot rod fire as a seven year old in 1960, so I completely agree with you Grumpy!

  21. I guess I should add my beater to this thread. It isn't much of a custom and likely won't become one since I hate to mess too much with it since it is still wearing its original paint job from Ford and I hate to change that...
