Just got back from picking up this 1930 Ford Coupe from the previous owner of 31 years. The car was blown apart for restoration in 1976 and has been hidden in his barn ever since. The guy decided to build a street rod out of it in the late 90's and started collecting parts for it. Had a frame built for it, collected a dropped tube axle, a 32 grill, and some replacement parts and pieces.

This will be a good build for my son and I. There is a pic of my son and the previous owner.

    Hey root-

My girl drove me by that garage to show me that pickup cab when we went to the Big Kahuna. Is that your place or where you scored the coupe? I was even eyeballing the rearends as we went by, wondering what they were going under!!

So, what are the pans for this bad boy. The body on it is nice.

  9. So that makes you one of the lucky few that actually gets a deck lid in the deal. Usually they are gone. Who knows why ?

Your so lucky and you even got a deck lid i wish i was your son, because i'm going through hell here because i'm just 16 and my dad don't like the idea of me putin all of my parts and tools in his garage which he thinks is to park new cars in not quote "building my peices of ****".

Well, he started a build on a 50 Chevy Fleetline but I had a feeling we were never totally on board. He kept looking at all the coupes at the shows etc. I'll keep the 50 for momma, she needs a driver.

The plans will be a 60ish street car. It's still up in the air but my son really likes the Milner Coupe. It will have similar flavor but not a ripoff of the famous 32. He wanted a 32 but he realizes that his pocketbook and mine....won't support a deuce.

Oh and the decklid is rust free. The guy the previous owner bought it from had turned the coupe into a pickup, so the decklid had been removed and a model a makeshift bed inserted in the trunk.

is that your collection of used appliances too?:D

i know my vote counts for ****, but if i had a late model A coupe that came with good fenders, what i'd do is build it 60's style, full fendered, dark colored shiney paint, waaay low in front with a healthy rubber rake, chrome reverse wheels with #1: redline tires, #2: pinner whites, or #3: wide white or blackwall radials. it will still be just as bas ***ed, but you just don't see many hot rods with fenders.

Thanks guys. We'll post pics as we go. He's pretty pumped. There was a finished 30 at the Poker Run tonight and the people let him sit in it. He's stoked.

Nice find. You need to put that decklid in your safe deposit box at the bank!!
Man, your son has really grown!! Seems like he was just a little fella a few years ago when you guys had the motormome @ the Kontinental drags. How old is he now?
