Here's a link to info about Babe's. I guarantee you'll like it. They don't have menus. You just pick between fried chicken and chicken fried steak. http://jdsworld.com:81/babes.htm
Babe's IS pretty damn good. I think the one closest to the track is in Sanger? I might be there Saturday...if not, I'll be there Firday. Or Sunday. Or both. But hopefully on Saturday.
Go to the one in Ronoke it's about 4 miles down 114 from the track, heading back towards Big D. Turn right on 377 heading south from 114 east and go into the old downtown.
We will be there, no car in the show though. Lots of vendors, pretty decent swap meet, after that, if my feets got any walk left in them , I look at the cars . Glad it is not the same weekend as the Kontinental drags so we can do both.
Like any show. If you want to have a good time you probably will. If you go expecting it to ****, it probably will.
People always talk **** about GG shows...with as many cars that show up to these things, it's hard to leave dissapointed. I never have. Some from last year.
Or if you want to try something else Same people just opened "sweetie pies rib eyes" --down town Decatur, Texas Only have one choice on menu $13.95 for steak, baked potatoe, salad Or World famous Ranchman steak house in Ponder --same thing, its BYOB Just down the road from track I think the Good Guys shows are decent , North Texas should be able to support another large show too but right now, this is about it .. tons of little ones at Hooters, etc most of those blow
Great food, Yea, its north of the speedway ,Hwy 377, in Roanoke, you'll see the signs. Be prepared to wait outside for a while, take some adult beverages. The scenery usually dont **** either.
I am going for sure. Glad all the cool events are not stacking up this year. Lets get a Hamb gathering for sure. How about Ryan coming up with the Austin crew????
Being an expect at eating and all i give Babe's in Roanoke an A+. Combine that with some kewl cars and what a day. I personally can't until the Kotinental Drags in Temple, to me i think those cars will have more kewlness to me.
Look's like my "T" will be ready for madien voyage to Fort Worth. Got to drive it around the parking lot this week. I don't like much!!!
I will be there atleast one day. The one good thing about your ride not running yet, its alot cheaper to go...
I think I'm going to bring the Model A. It's nearly an hour's drive from downtown Dallas, so it gives me an excuse to put some more road miles on it. And it will probably be the loudest car there unless a top fuel dragster shows up. Does Goodguys give an award for worst unfinished? PS...I used to live right up the road from Roanoke where the Babe's restaurant is. There is also a killer Italian restaurant called Italian Bistro (or something like that) in Roanoke and a good home-cooked meal kind of cafe called Dove Creek Cafe. The Prairie House is also really good...pretty much the same kind of home-cooked food.
I give out 5 awards at each event for cars that I like. The ***les are: -Suede & Chrome -Timeless Traditional -Period Perfect -Killer Kustom -Chopped & Dropped They come with a car club style cast aluminum Goodguys plaque. They are the only awards that come with these plaques. It's my way of giving our scene a little extra something.
