  2. The tailights are custom made, and were already done when slddnmatt found the car. I know a guy named Jeff, who owns the last Merc Dick Dean did before he retired, and the lights on his car are very similar. They have a heart shape to them. Here's the only pic I have, yea, kinda dark, sorry. Next time I see him i'll take a better pic. You can see, they look alot like mine, well maybe you can't see, sorry. Take my word for it,they're close.

  5. Bad news.My friend was driving my car back from the glass guy and the hood flew open.Got a few dings, but the hood will have to be repainted. No biggy. Those things happen,at least he didn't wreck it.Dings and paint can be fixed, friends can't be replaced(like a hubcap). The good news is I finally got my HAMB tag!!Now I just need the car to put it on.

Ya. I've seen that Lincoln in photos. Tried to contact the builder but he never got back to me. Funny story about your hood. I did the same thing on my 56 Chevy Cameo. I had to remove the hood latch to replace the radiator. Got it all set and took it out to punish test the radiator. Punched it up to about 50 on a 35 mile an hour street and the hood flew up and wrapped right around the windshield and cab! Scared the crap out of me and blinded me at the same time. Stuck my head out the window to see and slowed down weaving left to right. Limped it back home and pounded it out.

    One fix to another. :)

  7. I didn't go look at the damage,I'll take his word for it. I'm sure he wants to fix it before I see it.Thats cool with me,he's a good guy.The same thing happened to the guy I bought the shoebox from.He drove down the street and the hood flew open and ruined it.That was after the custom paint, flames, pinstripes, etc. It hangs on the wall at his shop.I asked him if it came with the car and he said no.

no doubt in my mind it was the glassguys fault for not shutting the hood properly!! watch out for those guys.. haha the merc looks excellent! congrats

  9. Are you getting rid of the floating grill? Could you take a few pics of the fit and how it mounts before you ditch it? I'd like to do something similar on my '52 pontiac.

    thanks.
