  3. Kinda like my 1959 that came like it was at a paint shop. Just bought a 1960 mor dor parts car that will help a bunch.

  4. While searching for a seat some info would be helpful.
Are ‘59 and ‘60 seats the same? I’m assuming a 2 door would have the same seat as an El Camino?

    Thanks in Advance.

It's a little hard to tell from that picture but it does look correct.

  6. Hopefully someone will chime in with a definitive answer, but as far as I recall my '60 and former '59 had the same seat, plus the seat can be used from a 2 door (split back). It used a car (or wagon) pan, hence the well under the bed grate (that usually rusts out).

  7. Thanks.
The well in the box is really solid. I’ll get some better photos up once I get the car Saturday morning.

  9. Nice!!
I’ve got a similar Power Seat in my ‘37 up North that I’m planning on replacing. Unfortunately it’s 1500 miles away and I probably wouldn’t be able to check them as luggage. lol

The sixes just had an emblem of some sort, (don't recall what it was like, longer than it was tall), the 283's had a V and the emblem in the V, and the 348 had the crossed flags within the V (as best as I can remember).

  11. Nice Score, and great that it is rust free. I have a really nice 60 Merc grill that would look great in there, shoot me a PM if interested.
    Sometimes I miss my 59

  12. Got lucky and found this locally on Craigslist yesterday. The seller was nice enough to deliver it to me today.

  13. 60 Merc grilles looks great on 59 & 60 's Chev's

  14. They also look good in a 61 Oldsmobile! Moriarity recommended one for my ‘61 Dynamic 88 up north.

  16. Sorted out the parts in the El Camino today.
Surprisingly all the trim for the upper fins were with the car. Just missing one “airplane” and the lower side trim.... which may be fun to find.
Found the tail gate handle and latches also. The inner mechanism and rods were still installed in the tailgate.
Also pulled out the front bumper (when I bought the car I was told it was the rear bumper) and found it still had its Black California plate on it which was kind of cool. Wish the back bumper hadn’t gone missing.
Taking a closer look at it today, I would say it is not a frame off restoration, it’s just a really solid California car.

The first two might go under the sill plates. Can't tell how long they are.

The third from top piece of trim looks like 58 Chevy front fender.

  21. Could be! They’re about 3-1/2’ long. You can see it below the marker valence in this photo for size. I’ll check that tomorrow.

  22. I’ve got a ‘58 Impala. That’s not a ‘58 moulding. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  23. Second one down is a '59 fender, hard to tell if the top one is the one under the back window, across the pinch weld for the bed.

Third down looks to be '57 Pontiac, same with the last 2.

  25. What about the rear inside panels for the bed, the sides, over the wheel wells and the grate. I see both rear lower valance panel, 1 front valance and interior trim. The bed top trim is in good shape.

  26. Thanks.

    I’ll check that tomorrow.

I’m missing the rear inner panels but may have a line on one side of the panels. What does the grate look like?
It looks like the car came with all the garnish moldings.

  28. You have the A pillar moldings and lower moldings in the first pics. It also has a small piece that covers the seam where the two rear pieces come together (under the interior light).

  29. The only thing I can't see in your pics are if the defrost diverter trim is there.
