Years ago I saw a movie on television and I would like to see it again,

The premise was a young man that I believe was from a well to do family and squandered away his time and money, he bought whatever he liked and never sold anything,His family kinda turned their back on him.

Then in his old age he was broke and living in a shack with all his treasures including a exotic car, possible a Stutz, anyway he was evicted and loaded all his worldly possessions in the car, he had stopped at a gas station, possibly out of gas and a lady pulled in and saw something in the car and ask him if he would sell it (possibly a candelabra) then she or someone else helped him liquidate.

Again, the memory is cloudy on some of the details and for the life of me I don't remember any of the actors. HRP

OK, since I am a person that loves movies, lets start with a few basic questions.
    1. Was this movie in color or in black and white?
    2. What time period do you think the movie is set in, 20's 30's 40's ?
    3. Try as best as you can to describe the actor, by that I mean, was he short like Edward G.Robinson or tall and thin like Jimmy Stewart ?

I believe the movie was in color, it probably started put in the late 20's early 30's and until the 1970
    s or 1980's

I would thing the movie was made in 70 or 80's

I don't remember any of the actors but the leading man was a handsom young gut and later in the move he looked lake a old hippie or a wino. HRP

Well Danny, that is pretty vague, but I get it, there were a lot of movies made for television, that don't easily show up in a web search, considering how you have limited information to begin with. At this point, you are going to possibly try your luck over at IMDB ( internet movie data base ). I will keep digging through web search's.

Bingo! Well done LAROKE, and to Danny, the car seen in the film is either a 35 or 36 Auburn boat tailed speedster.

At the end off the movie the auctioneer is heard to say the next item in your catalog is Mr. Quick's 1932 Auburn.

I'm amazed Larry figured out the movie I was referring to with all the error filled clues from a movie I saw 34 years ago. the date shown was 2/2/1986 . HRP

Thank you @HOTRODPRIMER & @LAROKE , best half hour I spent in ages, should be more programs like this. Did you notice the main character was Mark Hamill from Corvette Summer. My only problem was the 80's True spoke Wires on the Auburn. :)

Anyone remember the tv movie "Border Patrol"? Involved guys that patrolled the border between life and death, wearing "zoot suits" and driving customs and lead sleds...
