That is really strange.

 

I’ll play. Moriarity already won, but I’ll still play. Brass knuckles in the brass laden t-bucket. Piston knob in the ‘35 Chevy. Harp microphone for the RPU project.

 

Help needed: recently picked this up for B&M shifter with 1/2-20 threads - paper says to be used up to 1/2 standard - but there are no threads, and no threaded bushing - hole is slightly larger diameter than 1/2-20 bolt - any ideas on how to remedy this?

 

Picked this little guy up the other day from “Spritz by Fritz”.

 

They do make set screws with a nylon end on it so it wouldn't damage the threads on your shifter.

 

A helicoil will solve that issue

 

You have to add a 5th now .

 

I'm no Moriarty...but here's mine..the wood one is NOS made by Ed Cholakian I think..the T handle one looks like an old metal shop casting with St. Christopher? Then we have an old El Toro, a recent addition is the 3 speed knob with Hollywood on the bottom. The other loose chrome one is a "Product D' Elegance" LA Cal 23 on the bottom....that one is quite heavy..its a quality piece.

 

Anyone remember the shifter that came with the original AMT ‘57 Chevy 3in1 kit? I believe it was a 1/25 scale version of this guy. I haven’t seen to many of them, over the years :

 

I have a few but the coolest is one I made from the ball of an old Ford wishbone. I cut it off, drilled and tapped it and chucked it in my drill press to polish. It's way cool.

A friend of mine knows a guy that is a rep. for a surgical prostheses company and got one of these replacement hip balls from him to use as a shifter/knob.

 

Denny, that hip joint is one expensive shift knob, based on what my titanium knee cost me!! Mitch

 

Hurst three speed knob. Try finding one of those these days! About as common as chicken lips.
