    what is the going rate in california to chop a `49-`51 merc,minus gl*** work.

    MercJohn charges 6500-7000 I think, or at least the last car I heard him doing. Good job too

    I'm not sure what he charges but here's a card for a friend's shop, ask for Joseph. I posted some pics of his past work and a Merc that he is currently working on. If you're in the area just stop by the shop or call first to make sure they are there you can see what he has going on, and find out what he charges. ;)

    i usually charge around 5000 for a chop.if you get more extreme the price goes up here are some pics. the primered yellow one is BadBobs form the Hamb he has more recent pics if you want see how that car looks now,for some reason i cant find them

    well , home depot charded bout 200 for a good grinder with cut off disk , expect another 300 for the welder. so about 500 and a case of beer , and alotta patience and you got yerself a jalopy chop

    Chop it yourself and save! but do alot of reasearch and ask alot of questions first.. like they say "no question is a dumb question"

    or , call up a bunch of hambers and have a hamb chop at your place
    just get a keg and some space, if i were that way id hook you up .just ask around , you never know who lives down the block

    The 54 chevy I just picked up needs a chop. Its all shaved up and everything already. I'm to poor for a chop!! maybe someday!!

    Tommy Stedman has an excellent step by step 4 hour how to chop 49-51 merc video. Look on ebay, its there.
    You can do ittttt !!!!!!

    Yes I'll second the motion on Tommy. I've been to his place, and besides a heck of a nice guy,he can do a chop like it was child's play. Don't be afraid to make mistakes,that's how you learn.:DSparky
