It looks a lot like Tom Medley's 40 after it was rebuilt after the fire. ( RIP Stroker) If it is then whoever owns it should remove those god awful whitewalls.
The colour really works on this timeless '40, is it an original Ford colour? Ford UK had a very similar colour in the '80's on the OT Fiesta and ****** models. It's got me thinking.
I hope I am not straying too far off course but what do you guys think of the deep smoke gl***? Asking for a friend...
The beautiful thing about this car is you could run WWW, blackwalls, original caps, fiestas, aluminum slots, or chrome steelies and they would all work, depending on your mood.
I think it rocks those whitewalls, but really it would look great on any half decent wheels and tires. I like the dark windows, I think they set the body off nicely and draw the eye away from the outlines of the seats. The 40 coupe has got to be one of the finest cars ever built and I'm not even really a Ford guy. It can be anything you want - refined or rough, fast or slow, high or low, business or moonshine.
Have to agree on the '40 being the cat's *** of Fords...(only owned one, it was black w/Nailhead mill) Agree the windows are too dark, a light 'smoke' would have been sufficient...BUT, the Ford factory green tint ('50s) is still my favorite. Whitewalls are sooo 'fitting' to the final touches on this one...I'd keep 'em. Note the 'swan-necks' on the outside mirrors. Just cl***...
Looks like an Iowa plate, so it's probably Ralfs'. About 35 years ago my Dad purchased a maroon 40 coupe that was about 3/4 done from a fellow, and we picked it up from Steve Ralfs' upholstery shop. Maybe Ralfs had that car in his memory all these years? It's a cl***ic look.
If that's Steve Ralf's coupe, I think it's BBC powered. My dad new Steve. Also if it is said car, it's been done at least 25 years.
