Normally around this time of year I start throwing out the announcement for the big AACA Swap Meet held at the Fairgrounds the first weekend in February.

Well, it’s not going to happen. The Fairgrounds has cancelled all activities until May 31.

This past February was the first time in the new building, plus the outside was full.

Posted in the cancelled events thread also.

The NE GA Swap Meet in Commerce, is running year-round, including the First Weekend in February.
We also have a 3-day show in April.
    Make some new plans!

The ENWI Car Council Swap meet in Lincoln Nebraska is in the first part of March. It has been cancelled as well. 180 volunteers, most over the age of 65 is the reason.

There has to be a tremendous amount of advance planning involved,as well as deposits that have to be made and events like this often require a lot more than 3 months to plan and cooordinate. By all indications, this pandemic is not going to quit, even once a vaccine is available-and if significant numbers of people get it. Add to that, a lot of us who might attend are in high risk groups and it's just prudent to cancel

I'm more worried about the car shows scheduled for next summer than what is planned for February and March as we all know that they probably won't happen. This morning on TV, the experts claim that the general public won't get the vaccine until May or June of 2021. That will end most of next years shows, that will really ****.

A non profit organization putting on an event can cost between(for a small event) five grand up to 20 grand and more for a larger event. Much more. Much much more. Why gamble.
