looked at this today. Has a 4v Yblock (stuck)
Aluminum cab and neat tiny service bed.
The cab has one seat with an air compressor in the other side. The bed has a little storage and what looks to be a large generator.
It 4x4 with Timken looking axles. Haven’t located the hood.
Any you guy know what this actually is?

If you think it is aircraft related it looks like our tow vehicles. Does it have 4 wheel steering?

By the looks of that light guard on the fender, I’d say military, probably Air Force.

Looks sorta like an NC5 with a cab. The ones we used were open cab, Y block motor, generator for ground power, no compressor tho. Low gear was blocked out to prevent wheel stands. Originally were geared to serve as a tow tractor; but heard that didn't work out so just used as ground power unit.

With a compressor, I think it's a starter for military jets. We had something similar, without a top on the USS Midway. Fighter jets couldn't start themselves...

  6. Don’t think so.

  7. The guy was talking about s****ing it.
May grab it just cause it old and neat. Who knows.
The intake and carb won’t hit the s**** yard.
    Has some cool headlights too
Could toss the cab and bed on a T bucket style frame for a ‘unique’ bobber truck.

rotted very bad. Will pull the good off of it.
Has a usable ribbed factory flat bed.
    The truck is a 1.5 ton. The 6cyl should be a 261.

  9. looks like the "tea pot" carb on it so that intake has limited value, if so, still get it. what exhaust manifolds does it have?

  12. It has a bracket that attaches to the cover studs.
the stamping look different than the ones I have seen. Won’t let any odd parts turn into toasters.

  13. Probably need to check the head casting numbers

the little marker lights are definitely WW2 style, but some leftovers made it into the post war trucks too. certainly military, all had a data plate on the dash giving make, model #'s, weights, dimensions, etc. some of the oddball things like this were made by coleman, some were fwd's too. most likely not from ford even though its ford powered. cool toy, i'd grab it !

Found a picture of an NC-5 like we used on the flight line at NAS Miramar and Cubi PT. Looks the same other than the cab Screenshot_20200811-125412~2.jpeg

  16. That’s it without the cab. That hood is ugly. Maybe ok that it’s missing.
There was a similar mesh located under it.
Had that same looking emblem on the back

Called a MA-2, AKA "Ma Deuce". 4wd, no rear steer, DC power, hi / lo air compressor for servicing tires / struts, ac***ulators. Also had a turbine engine to provide starting air for the aircraft engine. Also used for towing aircraft.
