This is a pic of my Buick Electra that I am currently working on. I was going to re-paint it the same blue with maybe a black or white roof, but now I'm wondering how it would look "HAMB'd". Can someone with Photoshop skills give me some ideas? Flat black with a metalic roof? Scallops? Bellflower pipes? Widewhites? Slammed? Have some fun with it.... I'm open to all ideas!
The two-door looks cool, but probably... no... definitely, beyond my abilities. Slammed with Whites looks excellent. Keep 'em coming.
Dude...do not flat black it. Just don't. Go for a flat metallic or a shiny metallic...but it's gotta be color. I repeat...do not flat black it. Wide whites are fine on that ****er though. Too new my ***. They look good on it...so what if it ain't period. Drop it. Paint it. Put SOMETHING on it for wheels and tires...but do not flat black it. (did I mention that ya shouldn't flat black it yet?) Olson
Ok... so flat black it isn't. I do like the look of the wide whites, but have never liked the narrow whites. To me the narrow whites look too 'family car-ish'.......... I know, I know... so is a 4 door. So far I like the light blue and light green colors. Maybe a nice gloss light blue with lots of metallic.......... I forgot to mention.... I've got the fender skirts and do plan on using them.... just don't have a good picture with them on. What do guys think about lake or bellflower pipes on this car?
A nice light blue would be great, plus your interior would still match. Maybe if you're on a super budget, you could put some uncleared blue basecoat on the body and some shiney enamel white on the roof for a two tone. Would be cheap enough. Skirts would be good too. Gotta have some kind of whitewall, you can make your own with Krylon Fusion or by tire grinding (do a search) I'd like to see some two striped whites on there, 60's style, or make your own Redlines, they were popular at the time. Some kind of chrome wheels would be a plus, but the hubcaps are't bad for the time being. I'm not into lake pipes, especially on a car this big, but I could see bellflowers with the right paint and wheels. You could do a hell of a lot to make this car look nice with just some creative paint work and about $200 in materials.
This car needs a dark blue satin body, abalone or silver flaked roof with either webbed, laced, or scaled panels done in a nice candy. Oh, and chrome reverses, astros, or tri-ribs.
