As noted I have a 34 Chevy Master. I am installing OE re-Chromed bumpers.
However both front and back bumper brackets mounting holes from bumper to bracket don’t align up perfectly. When I removed them I didn’t notice if they were stressed to make the holes line up.
My question is. 1 does the bracket have to be compressed for bracket holes to line up?
    2. If so any tips on how to do to mount the bracket?
    Thank you

maybe bolt them to the bumpers , c clamp the frame ends and bolt them up to the frame.

I would also bolt them to the bumpers first, but not tightly. Just close so the frame end can be manipulated into place. Then once they're bolted together everywhere, begin to tighten it all down as you pay attention to alignment.

That’s the problem. You can’t bolt them to the bumper 1st. The end hole with the long bolt goes on, but then the final bolt for the bracket ( the short bolt) is 1/2 off which doesn’t allow it to me bolted without some sort of compression. Either the bumper has to be bent, bracket installed and then bolted to the car.
If it had to be pushed in to align not to bad, but to pull it to allow the bolt to line up will take some serious power. And no the brackets nor the bumper are bent.

They won’t bolt to the bumper 1st, the holes don’t line up

might have to elongate the bracket holes. even them out to split the dif.

did you hold the new and old bumpers up against each other and compare the holes?

Yes the holes are exact. And these brackets were on the original car

These brackets have been on the car and the Bumper is exact in every way as the old.
They have to be put in some sort of tension to reinstall that’s all I can figure

    l) Try longer full threaded bolts in the holes holding brackets to the frame, just start the nuts, keep them long enough, loose enough with enough movement to get all the other bumper bolts in place.
2nd) Tighten all evenly until all bolts are snug.
3rd) Switch back to original length frame bolts one at a time.;)
4th) Don't tighten the bumper bolts to tight on your new chrome, the bolt heads might cave in .
(done that first time) Captain Cave Manned em
