I have a question regarding the drag link on my 19029 Model A Ford Pickup truck. I had to replace the steering column and steering box. I did not know the steering box the drag link rod was going to be a problem. My question of how to make the drag link adjustable?
    Thank you

Shorten up an extra tie rod. Beware the tube is thin walled and has a plug in the end. Either replicate the plug, or make a new rod from thicker tube.

  3. What set up do you have now, stock box, F1, F100, Vega. I have an F100 box on my 28 and I used the stock style socket on both ends and threaded bar.

Thank you all for the quick reply and picture. I have the F100 box installed and the stock pitmen arm and stock drag link (drag link not installed). What ends did you use on the pitmen's arm and, are they oppositely threaded on either end?

F-100 boxes either had pitman with a tapered hole or a integral ball. Which do you have? What spindle and arm do you have?

When you don't give us details we ***ume you have all stock parts (I sure did). Now you throw in changes and it will make a big difference.

perhaps too late now, but some folks mill the end of the sector shaft square so you can use the stock A pitman arm and drag link

I have the F100 box with the square that the pitmen's arm goes on and a nut and bolt tightens it to the spline and locks it down. I was asking about two parts that attach to the pitmen arm and the steering rob that is on each end of the threaded drag link.

  8. The bar is threaded opposite. The bar in the picture is a stock bar shortened which I used to test fit, I had some bar stock threaded on both ends when I found the length I needed. The ends are Model A, then you need a ball on the wheel side. I have a bolt on hot rod arm, but you can use the stock stuff also.
