Hi guys .i cant seem to decode my small block. The code is K0412T5A. I know the k= Ontario 04=april 12 = 12th. I cant seem to find T5A. any help would be appreciated. I cant seem to squeeze myself far enough to see the casting numbers but will keep at it. Thanks.

in US Chevys, the suffix codes starting with T were usually from trucks from the 1970s, but they were also usually 3 letters, no numbers.

Knowing more about the block, ie casting number, casting date, would help. Of course you can also get some clues of the general year and size by looking at things like the dipstick side, damper size, crank flange shape, etc. And starting late 60s they all had a partial VIN which is really helpful, it's usually 3 letters/numbers followed by 6 numbers

There is a TBA suffix for 79 trucks, but since you didn't post a picture of the stamping, I can't see how far off it is from being this.

And there might be different codes used in Canadian vehicles, that are not in the normal US lists.

Thanks for sticking with this. I am sure the codes are different up north. Hopefully 1 of these pics are readable. 20201201_192720.jpeg 20201201_192726.jpeg
