Art & Inspiration Flathead Picture Thread

@Flogknaw has started threads about small blocks, big blocks, and the hemi. So i thought what about a picture thread for the most traditional hot rod engine of all. The flathead.

 

I'll start, 8BA flathead from H&H in my 30 Sport Coupe, I've had seven flathead powered cars including my avatar that had a V8 60. Was really impressed with the work by H&H were hard to get hold of but great workmanship, really runs out nice.

this was my 296" 3/8 by 3/8 in my 32 p/u in '74.

 

My uncle's in 1949 waiting on Bennie's new three pot and those Sharp head's.....didn't make 1949 but made the 1950 Bonneville trials....

Dang....have a set of those top water coolers - haven't ever seen them on a motor !

 

Second one I brought back to life in the 80's........

 

My uncle's roadster back from Bonneville or the dry lakes 1950. Think he must have had his hood on as that motor looks to clean !
