Thanks Bleach. Perhaps the number one complaint was too hot in the ****pit. That was remedied in 1956 with the addition of side vent doors. Probably easiest way to tell 55 from 56. Another big complaint NOT remedied was gas consumption! "It will p*** anything on the highway but a gas station" was often heard. My parents had a 57 sedan with the y-block 312 cubic inch when we lived in Las Vegas. My Father took it to a mechanic in Los Angeles who supposedly could make an improvement in gas mileage. Minimal improvement so the Ford got traded in on a 1957 Chrysler New Yorker with a 392. Better mileage obtained ! 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
