Technical fuel/vacuum pump

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DeltaBravo(DB), Dec 7, 2020.

  1. When I got this car the original fuel pump was byp***ed and all connections were removed so I have no reference. The engine was running with an electric fuel pump. Could put it back that way but prefer not too. Got my rebuilt replacement fuel pump today. I know it is a combination vacuum, fuel pump and filter.
Once again asking you folks with more experience what goes where. I've hopefully correctly uploaded an image from the manual and labled the connections with letters. Can anyone connect the dots for me? where does "A" come from or go and so on etc. img001.jpg img001.jpg

D and E are the vacuum side of things. The fuel pump is the bottom.

  3. One goes to the wiper motor. Any idea of the other?

As far as the fuel pump side if you remove the bowl on the bottom you should see one port open directly into the bowl that would be the line bringing the fuel to the pump. It fills the bowl first then gets pumped out of the bowl.

  5. Guessing A is the fuel in and B is fuel out and C is a drain plug?

The other side of the vacuum section goes to the intake manifold. When there isnt enough vacuum from the engine for the wipers the pump creates vacuum.

  8. studebakerjoe do you happen to where on the intake manifold the vacuum line is supposed to go? I only have one hole that I can see that has a plug in it
