After a bunch of trial and error, this is what I came up with for my 62 chevy clutch slave. A lot of stuff was "in the way", but I think I got her licked. A little cutting ,welding ,grinding, spacing and fitting.
Of course, this will cause a steering cunundrum, , but thats another project.
    Critiques welcome.

I'm not knocking your work, but it just looks like it's a little "light" for the amount of force that the pressure plate will be pushing back with. I would think it would want to push back into the oil filter. If the plate is flat I would think it will bend to one side or the other. Looks like 1/8 steel? Can you add any gussets to the outside for more support. I'm ruuning a sbc w/saginaw 4-speed. I made a frame mounted Z-bar and used 1/4 plate for the arms. They work so far but I'm thinking of gussets for them too. I may just overkill **** too, but I like to get there AND back.MIKE

I used all 3/16 . I will probably add some more support. I would like to see your setup if thats possible.

A little more refinement. I added some 3/16 angle to bottom and top. It seems pretty stout now I may add a brace to the bolt hole on the block also.
I want to apologize, a big bird came along and **** on my beautiful welds:rolleyes:

Clearance is easy - just drill out the pivot ball area for a rod and use a pull style slave cylinder and an old stamped rocker pivot ball - leaves all the room in "front" clear for headers, steering, etc.

you are reinventing the wheel, there is factory stuff from the '50's and '60's that is plentiful and easy to use, can be driver's or p***enger side mount too!

My problem is I need a 1-1/16 slave to match my 62 chevy truck master

  11. My buddy s****ped a one ton Chevy dump truck that had a hydraulic clutch set up on it.The bell housing, slave and master now reside in my 57 Belair.YES I did put in a new master and slave eventually.Lots of header room with a big block! Works great so far. The housing has the slave mount cast into it already.

I finally got under my car and took some pics of my setup. It's not pretty but it works. Someone told me they thought it was made by Ansen. I'm not sure, it could be homemade. Either way, it's been there since 1965. It's similar to your bracket but it's closer to the clutch fork. Notice the shorter rod. Could you move yours back, closer to the mounting holes, then it wouldn't have to be so beefy? That would give you more room to change the oil filter too.
Good luck and have fun -Scott

Thanks for the pics,327, I think I am going with what I did since I have so much time into it, But I like that setup. I wish I could get my hands on one of those brakets. Where in M*** are you, I grew up in West Roxbury and Westwood, And did a couple of years in Lynn.

Is there an internal hydraulic throwout bearing that would work? I will be running into the same deal with my ride.

Yes there is I thought about using one,but I wanted to use the 62 Chevy truck master, the bore is 1-1/6 and no one that I know of has a compatible slave or hydraulic throw out. Kind of trapped in that sense. Next time I will go with 2 separate masters. This has been a good exercise though. (I hope it works!!):D

look into some of the companys that put stainless sleaves in masters or wheel cylinders and have them make it a 3/4 bore then you can use any slave you want. I think it is about $100 to have the bore redone with new seals in tthe master.
