I'm suprised that more HAMBers are not talking about the Kustom Kemps of
Americas Leadsled Spectacular. If your blessed by owning a Kustom or just a
kustom nut, you should be in Salina, KS this weekend. We are leaving early
Friday morning,so we should be in town around noon.

I cannot wait to get up there.............

    Happy Trails,

Listen to the kat; he knows what he's talking about. I can't make Americruise or Salina this year, but if I had to choose, Salina is a no-brainer.

Salina was a good time last year. I can't afford to go this year though.

    Hey Aaron,

I can understand not being able to afford it this year. You've been all over
the country with your bad ride. I'm sure I'll see ya at another show down the road......

Last year I had a blast and the attendance reminded me of the
KKOA shows from the early 80's when it was really popping. It
was over 300 kustoms and it was nice to see the support from
all over the country. Jerry has picked a perfect location to host
the show. Big shade trees and the park is close to the hotels keeps
    it real KOOL.

    "Kustoms are Kool"

    Happy Trails,

Knuckle and I are leaving for Salina Saturday morning, bright and early. I think we're about 200 miles out. We actually considered riding in air conditioned comfort, but that wouldn't be any fun. Oughta be a warm roll.

Last year I drove my SSwagon up there. I had a good time but I missed
the Merc. To help me beat the heat, I just bought a fan from O'reilys that
hooks up to my lighter. Sometimes being kool is hard work.

    See ya this weekend..........

Wish I could make it, Mick! The Dodge ain't done yet...barely driveable, in fact. I'd make the trip all the way from Jersey, if I could, like in the old days...When the Spectacular used to draw 1000 to 2000 cars. My Olds made it to every one from about 85 to 94.

drdave, who bought your wagon? Mine got new windshield and other gl*** last week (replacing the pieces that were shot out by the BB banditos) and is at B & G for new front and rear seat upholstery. I am not making this up.

Wish I could make Salina and see Mick, Krobe, and other good friends. Maybe next year.

  16. Mick, the Mrs and I are heading to Ark City tonight to pick up Voodoo Jim and Mike Shey. We should roll in about 11pm. My Merc is shiny now. Who knew you could polish a turd.

Good show last year... and Thomas Park is one of the coolest parks in town. I used to date a girl who lived in the only house there beside the park.

"date"... yeah... that's what we called in in the good ol' days.

    Hey Arkie!

It left the driveway Tuesday evening with Steve Cates behind the wheel. It's in good hands, I know, so that makes it easier. Kinda hard to see "your" car go out the drive with someone else driving it....as you would have had if you woulda traded the Nomad for that sedan! ;)

I'm stoked about the new interior in the Nomad! Barbara is great and does good work...but she's kinda slow sometimes...lol. Tell her I said hello!

She can take all the time she needs, as the 46 is in the garage where the Nomad was parked. I've pulled the gas tank; nasty inside. Makes me want to replace it rather than try to clean and seal it, especially since it has a baffle in it that I can't see around.

1lowlesabre asked me the other day when we're gonna get together at your house. I told him probably when the temp dropped below 90.

Cates drove his Rambler wagon to Stray Kat 500 last year; on the way home he had ****** and engine trouble. I don't think he will on this trip.

Going to be heading out I-70 really early saturday AM on the way to colorado - is this worth stopping by for an hour or two in the AM (should hit there around 9AM or so?). Any more info on it (i.e. parking cost, entrance fees, car show/swap meet, number of cars, etc.)

  21. I think it'll be worth it. I always get alot of good ideas from the cars that show up. But, that's just my opinion.

I'll be there Friday evening and most of Saturday. Gonna switch to some old M&H slicks for the Fri evening "drags" to make some better smoke. :)
