  1. First thing is adjust the steering box worm gear, point the steering straight down the road, crank the adjusting screw down, steer the car to check for binding, no binding adjust tighter, Check and adjust til the play in the box is gone. , lock down the adjusting nut and drive around. You may not need a steering box?

  2. Painted my 39 Ford tub with a brush yesterday and today it's not as good as CARCOA, why? Wrong Brush!

Scott, my situation is different! I have been in my home now, to the day almost , 20 years. Have had several neighbors come and go, some been here longer than me!
But for the most part, we never spoke or interacted! Not mad, just kept to ourselves! Well about a year ago I met a guy through mutual friends, he was getting a divorce and started bunking out at my single friends house, down the road a couple of miles. Well he bought the house one house down from me! He is an outgoing guy and somehow got all of us talking again and helping one another! It’s like magic! This inspired me to do more things around the house and shop! He has also been working me like a dog, fixing up one of his detached garages! But o well it’s worth it!

  4. Well this is not Facebook so it probably should not be mentioned. That said I will mention this in p***ing. I got sick for valentines day and have been out of breath and exhausted ever since.

Now problem with car? Nothing money and time wouldn't fix. LOL Steering box and gears are nothing. I have not posted and probably won't for a while but what I have that resembles a car could not be called a car at this point. Far from it I could only wish for gears and steering box problems. :D

Trying to get to a couple of small jobs every day being retired. But lately I've been getting tire very early. Now Christmas stuff going on but we're staying very compact at our house; don't want an unexpected gift of Covid! I REALLY need to hook up my radiant heating in the garage and then finish painting the body tub of my OT LBC. Too chilly to paint otherwise. Roof on house new a total redo. Wife's cousin's son will give us a good price but the cost of plywood is through th droog and we make it here! Natural disasters and very poor decisions by some politicians have made prices go up affecting consumers on both sides of the border...

  9. I don’t do facebook, so this place kind of does the same thing for me. Also my post was not a joke I’m sick as a dog and getting tested for the ‘rona tomorrow. P&B you should see the Doc about your breathing issues. we would miss your posts here, if something were to happen to you. Now where the hell is my FOURTH power steering bracket!!!

  10. My doc says that I am a "Long hauler". They want to make a lab rat out of me. Not gonna happen. I am a survivor, I'll just keep plugging along and if I move slower than other people I just will.

What I have for parts may take me a little longer than other people, I don't mind, its not a race. I am not as good as I once was but I am as good once as I ever was. ;)

I couldn't answer that. But she had me standing there with her looking at "152" shades of white and ask me to pick one. That's when I walked over to electrical.

Hang in there, ******. Most things just take longer as we get older, The Trick to the situation is Not to get frustrated by it (self diagnosis)!

Too much collecting, not enough room for doing. The collecting has eaten up most of the space in the shop, so I got to get rid of some collected stuff.

Oh, and mama wants me to redo the first floor ****ter, so that's going to delay things a bit.

IMG_5679.JPG I appreciate the sympathy guys!!! But truth be told I was lucky....I got my 46 and my 65 out , got the wife's OT Datsun out, got my dads last truck , a 1999 ranger( NICELY KEPT!!) out....I still have my wife, my dogs, my house and I'm almost done " deconstruction " and am able to salvage most of my walls and overhead doors....life is good!!

I can't add or subtract much except a bout with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands. My knuckles swelled up like Popeye's arms after spinach.. Hurt like sum*****, better now, more pills. Managed to clean the cellar work shop, re found couple buried work benches! Big help was talking to a friend on "speaker" with the phone in my shirt pocket while cleaning. Got tired after 4 hrs, some left to do, mostly putting tooling away. Tomorrow.

Back problems have slowed me to a snails pace. I'm building a 56 Chevy Handyman wagon, I'm in the middle of prepping for paint, the back started hurting more and more, so I went to see the doc. After an MRI, they tell me I have severe arthritis with several bulging discs. I had an epidural injection to try and calm things down. I still try to get a few hours in most day until the pain gets to be too much. My goal is to put some color on this spring. This old age **** ****s.
