Can anyone tell me what the Original number organization would be for a 56 1/2ton pickup. Yellow with black digits or black with yellow digits? would it be 3 letters and 3 numbers or letter then 5 numbers? I have no idea why these confuse me so much Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
First year for '56-'62 yellow/black base plate, letter & 5 digits. It was possible to sometimes register a pickup with p***. plates, but it was a violation to carry many items in the bed.
Here you go, these were on my 56 F100 when I imported it from CA many years ago, they now live on my garage wall!
Oh yeah, California if I didn’t mention it before. So the YOM plates would have been what came on it? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The YOM program is what they use now to register vehicles with vintage plates, but those ARE the original plates when the vehicle was bought. 1956 was the first year of the "normal" size plates as we know them now. Like said above you need commercial plates, you need 2, the number/letter configuration needs to be clear with the state and no stickers are needed ('56 is a stand alone).
