Hey has anyone installed a 1935 grill and hood on a 1937 ford truck. Looks like the inner fender panels are different.
At a minimum I’m thinking Hood, grill, radiator, and as you mentioned inner fender panels. One thing to look at would be the cowl are to see if the hood would line up correctly There’s a large post about 35-37 pickups, I think started by @Roothawg. Maybe he’ll chime in with better info
37 cab is different. You could run a 35-36 grille, but the hood tops won't jive. Not saying you couldn't make it fit, it's just not plug and play. The inner fender panels are different. We don't discuss the 37's a lot in this thread, but it has a lot of info in it. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1935-1936-ford-pickup-tech-for-the-masses.236409/
That’s a good thread on the trucks differences. I think I can make the 37 inner fender panels just didn’t want to destroy them . Looks like I will as another set is hard to find.
'37 cab is a one year only. I have seen a '37 cab with a '35 grille and hood mounted but I don't know how much work was involved. The back part of the cab and the doors are same as '35 and '36 (to be precise, there are some differences in the doors--early '35 doors have removable garnish moldings, later doors don't, but they are all interchangeable and look the same on the outside), but the cowl and the area around the windshield is different. '35 and '36 has a one piece flat windshield. '37 has the split V windshield, windshield frame interchanges with '37-'39 cars and '38-'39 trucks.
