I'm really sorry for the Off Topic post, I try hard not to do this but I'm stummped.

My Dad wore a certin kind of hat for years and years. It was a fedora stlye, canvus type hat. It was kinda hard, meaning it held it's shape, not like a floppy fishing hat. He always bought them at either anthony's or JCPenny for 10 or 15 bucks. I think they were all either gray or brownish.

I would really like to find one and have searched the net over and over, coming close, but no cigar.

If anybody has any leads I'd appreciate it a lot.

Again sorry for the Off topic post guys.

i know what you are talking about. my grandpa used to rock those. may sound kinda crazy but you should check walmart or kmart. kmart always seems to have all the kind of stuff the mainstream forgets about like those killer slip on cholo boat shoes....worth a check.

Walmart has the fishing type hats but the brim is kinda solid so it ends up like a pork pie hat, google pork pie hats and you can see what I mean.

Try ebay. I bought a boonie hat off ebay for under $10 bucks (including shipping) for hiking. It's kinda a fedora type had. It hold sit's shape very well and the brim is stiff , but still very flexible. Also, almost all fedoras are a wool felt material.

This is what I bought.....but theres tons of hats on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/BOONIE-Hat-KHAKI-boonnie-skate-bush-HATS-LARGE-Safari_W0QQitemZ270010178512QQihZ017QQcategoryZ52369QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also search for a website called hats in the belfry....TONS of styles... they almost certainly have what you want.

I cut the chin strap off. It was annoying and hey the hat only cost $10 bucks so who cares.

You bring up a pleasant thought of my dad wearing his Fedora. Think I'll get one.
