I have a 35 ford truck I just bought a few months ago and it has a dropped I beam front end, I would like to raise the front end about 2 inches because it keeps dragging and I don't want to mess up my grill they are hard to find and not cheap. Do anyone know of an easy way to raise it that much? and help would be appreciated.
There are a few ways but if you can post a photo of the truck and the front suspension ~ your actual truck and actual suspension not just photos off the internet of something similar~ we can help you get started down the right road
Need to know what is in there currently, If its a dropped axle with reversed eyes on the main leaf and the # of leaves and the condition of the spring in general could raise the front, either that or changing the main leaf to a stocker (not a reversed eye main leave will give you approx. 1", the leaves may be also be worn or need a few more, also consider sizes of tires & wheels would help. Just a little more detail will help the guys on here help you out geoford41
what geoford41 said-need to see pics-should have at least 8-9 leaves-I have done a few 40's and find the reversed eye spring lets them sit too low--also the springs will settle/sag a good bit after a while--sometimes as much as 1 to 1 1/2 inches. also are the shackles stock length or longer?
Was thinking about putting a Posies 2 inch drop with 4 inch drop axle in my 36 build but appears I run into the same problems as harleynut?
Could be why the original builder sold it to you. Really cannot tell without pictures of the actual truck. Parallel leaves in the front or semi elliptical makes a difference on how to fix it.
