Sooooo, finding a replacement glove box door for my Wife’s Chevy truck has been next to impossible. After scouring the internet (and what few swaps have popped up last year) I’ve come up with bupkiss. I just came across a GMC glove box door of the same year, but I’m reading conflicting things about whether or not they are interchangeable (it looks damn identical eyeballing it). Can anybody tell me definitively if I can use a GMC glove box door on a Chevy dash of the same year? Thanks in advance guys, you usually come through on these curveballs! GMC had a 1.5 year only dash in the 54 and first half year 55 trucks. If it was earlier than that then the chevy's would swap no problem. I don't believe they are the same but maybe someone else will chime in. I know the rest of the dash around the gauges is way different.
Chevy also had a unique dash in 1954/55 1st Series which leads me to believe they are possibly the SAME(?!) Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
GMC glove box door is totally different. '54 GMC dash panel is unique, so is '54 Chev. You can split the press welds and interchange them. Many GMC panels have stress cracks around the mast jacket if the truck had hard use. '54 - '59 GMC, especially the '55 - '57 DeLuxe cabs, are some of the best looking truck dashes ever built.
