Any Pontiac (or jewelry) guys know about this?

I came across this today, and had not seen one before. Someone offered this ring to me in a trade. A quick Google search showed a few different styles ranging from 1940s to 1970s with prices ranging from $199.99 - $495.00. I was just curious if anyone else had seen one, or had any information. I have absolutely no knowledge concerning jewelry, but I thought it was interesting.

I believe the POCI magazine (Smoke Signals) had an article on it. I will see if I can dig it up...Randy

Found it. Now I have another Saturday project of sorting and organizing my giant stack of magazines! Lol. It’s in the April 2018 issue. Three page layout. Pretty cool. Certainly a different time...I’ll see if they sell back issues. Randy

I HAD that issue. I just checked as I would gladly send it to the OP, but cleaning out the garage when I moved I gave most old magazines away.

Thanks for the info guys! Do you know how these were given out? I ***ume Pontiac maybe gave these out to technicians after a certain length of service (25 years?).

The article does not say but it does mention that often the years of service was actually displayed on the ring. It has a picture of a ring showing “15”. The rings underwent a redesign in 1962 and usually came with a matching lapel. Randy
