If you give up that easily what are you going to do when it really gets rough!

Five days is hardly enough time to get a grip on this site. Like anything in life, you need to get to know the ins and outs.

If you do decide to leave, you will be leaving the greatest treasure trove of information and car knowledge possibly in the world. Here you have Bonneville racers and record holders, drag racing champions and pioneers, manufacturing pioneers, dirt track champions, designers, historical figures and so much more. There are moderators that will help you if you need it.

Read the rules and get to know the members and don't snivel.

The way I see it, he's just another guy that only sees the HAMB as a "resource" (free cl***ifieds) with no real intention of being a resource himself, commonly called a "taker".

Slow down, calm down and regroup.
Your first post was on Wednesday wanting a steering wheel....... apparently from engine138. As everyone has said you have to have 10 or more posts before you can access the "Wanted" section or PM a member. Engine138 would have to read every post every day to see you were wanting to contact him. You can let him know you are trying to get ahold of him by using an ampersand in front of his user name... @engine138 in your post. It will show up in his alerts.
Don't run off, you're gonna regret it. These ol boys will do anything to give you a helping hand and are a wealth of knowledge.....just some with some hard bark on em and that's usually all bark no bite.:)

Just a heads up for some of the people who don't have much to do with the cl***ifieds:
Because of all the scammers joining just to scam via the cl***ifieds, a requirement was brought in not so long ago for a new member to build a post count of 10 before they can use the cl***ifieds. That includes being able to send 'conversations' as well as posting in the cl***ifieds.

Ever since, this requirement has acted like fly paper catching a lot of people who only join for the free ads. And who don't read the rules either for that matter. Some try to get around this by posting their wanted/for sale in the intros.

I don't disagree with anything you wrote, I just think the goofy thing is... if we took a poll, what percentage read the rules first? Those are like 'instructions' for the website. :D I think we all know what happens to the instructions for most things. They are a subliminal message: "grab me another beer, I've got this"

A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel shoved into his pants. "Hey, pirate", says the bartender,"do you know you have a steering wheel shoved into your pants?" "Arrh", says the pirate, " and it's driving me nuts!".

Funny I never noticed his arrival, but we all know he is leaving now. A "taker" as DDDenny stated above. Bob

I guess we all havedifferent learning curves. I'm still learning the ropes. Doesn't bother me at all. And I think I'm a crotchety old fart, too old to be comfortable with computers. Oh well, doesn't matter only f#$@ up again anyway!

Now back to seeing what's happening tonight on the HAMB... Besides, it's too late to go out to the garage and fiddle with the "Whatever". SWMBO said so

be nice if it took some effort to get in and then they might appreciate the joint.
